New Game Mode!
Hello everyone!
I’ve got some pretty exciting news - Border Riding is on tour! We were invited to be part of Now Play This, a roleplaying game exhibition hosted at Somerset House in London.
Jo has written a new free play mode for Border Riding; an abridged legacy version of the full game, ideal for setting out to play at conventions or large gatherings.
About the Convention Mode. In this new play mode, different groups of players sit down around a shared community, play a single round, and then leave a legacy for future groups to play with. Across one or more days, many groups of players will create decades and even centuries of history for a single shared space.
This version of the game touches on many of the themes from the original game, and also explores a different dynamic to community building; one where the different generations of a single village can only leave limited legacies and histories for one another.
The game also comes with two sample seed communities. You can print and play everything, ready to go, or make your own seed community to fit the tone of your convention (sci-fi asteroid riding, anyone?)
Accessibility. In between play testing, design, and prepping print materials for Now Play This, I haven’t had a chance to export these files with accessibility tags or produce alt text for the different play mats. I plan to get these ready some time in April or May!
Thanks for reading,
Brian
